Happy May everyone! Summer is just around the corner and things here at Capital CFO+ have been busy. That’s why this month we are talking all about taking initiative. Whether it’s in your personal life or your professional life, this month we share ways you can step up and lead the pack. We are also thrilled to have special guest Camille Nisich of Instant Equilibrium on with us. Camille is an amazing entrepreneur, thought-leader and kick-ass businesswoman who helps Professional Services firms make more sales, so they can grow faster without having to add staff - something truly every business can benefit from! On the subject of taking initiative, here’s a few ways you can strive to do so both at work and in your personal life.

At Work

  1. Identifying and solving a problem without being asked, like noticing inefficiencies in a workflow and proposing a new system to improve productivity.

  2. Volunteering for a challenging project or to lead a team when no one else steps up.

  3. Learning a new skill or software on your own time because it will help the team or your role.

  4. Creating documentation for a process that others can use, even though it wasn’t part of your job description.

  5. Reaching out to a struggling colleague to offer support or mentorship without being prompted.

In Personal Life

  1. Planning a trip or outing for friends or family without being asked.

  2. Fixing something at home (like a leaky faucet or messy room) without waiting for someone to point it out.

  3. Checking in on someone going through a tough time and offering help or a listening ear.

  4. Starting a side project or hobby that could become something more without being told to.
